  • Gareth Murfin BA (Hons) FCCA

  • Director

Gareth is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and has over 18 years’ experience in the accounting and finance industry. He has worked with a wide range of creative clients, from number-one selling artists and BAFTA winners through to freelance designers and fashion photographers.

His down-to-earth approach and sound advice enables small businesses and individuals to achieve their potential.

  • Roy Davis FCA

  • Director

Roy has acted for Architectural Practices as an audit/ client partner since 1990 when he and his partners at the time acquired Harvey R.S Lee & Co Chartered Accountants, as a management buyout and commenced trading as Lee Associates.

Whilst at Lee Associates, Roy had particular sector expertise in Architectural firms and was the Partner in charge of both the audits of Grimshaw Architects and Richard Rogers Architects.

Roy’s clients also include David Miller Architects and Phil Coffey Architects.

  • Eric Longley

  • Tax Director

As an ex-Inspector of Taxes, Eric has a keen awareness of HMRC which he uses to guide clients away from areas that might risk a challenge. His experience includes Managing Director of legendary Factory Records and management of several bands.

Eric heads up our tax services group providing both compliance and planning advice where he is able to call on his considerable tax and music industry knowledge and experience. An entertaining and informative speaker, Eric is often invited to address various bodies regarding the vagaries of the music industry.

A seasoned practitioner in the music industry and if you by chance get to meet him we are sure he will regale you with tales of his experiences before sorting out your tax problems for you.

  • Michael Holmes

  • Associate Director

Michael has a 30-year career as an accountant in professional services firms including 15 years as the Finance Director of Grimshaw Architects.

He brings a wealth of experience and he understands the issues that affect small to medium-sized Architectural businesses.

  • Laiman Tang FCCA

  • Manager

Laiman Tang has worked with Roy since 2006 and has assisted Graham on the audits of both Grimshaw and Richard Rogers.

She has also worked on the audit of HMKM for one of Roy’s fellow Partners.

Laiman is meticulous and accurate as well as being experienced in the audit of Architectural firms.

  • Alison Bullyment FCCA

  • Head of Accounts

Alison brings over 20 years of knowledge to the Whitemoor Davis team.

With a wealth of media experience gained at a top 10 firm, she’s worked for bands, charities, theatres and producers amongst others.

Alison enjoys watching live music in and around London.

  • Graham Cook

  • Audit Manager

Graham Cook is an experienced Accountant who has worked with Roy for nearly twenty years. During that time he has been audit manager on various Architectural firms including Grimshaw and Richard Rogers where Roy was the Partner in charge. He has also been Audit Manager on the audit of Zaha Hadid for a fellow Partner of Roy’s.

Graham is particularly experienced in the audit of revenue recognition and understands how Architectural firms operate.

Graham has a good knowledge of the software that Architectural firms use to produce their financial information.

  • Tristan Roussel

  • Audit Manager

Having joined the Whitemoor Davis team in 2015, Tristan has been maintaining and building the Audit side of the business through his professional approach and enthusiastic manner.

Having grown up in France, Tristan also maintains a very strong international link and therefore is able to advise clients both in the UK and overseas.

Tristan’s experience within Audit has taught him the importance of offering bespoke solutions to gain the trust and confidence of clients and allowing the Audits to be as seamless and unobtrusive as possible.

  • Alex Rowley

  • Senior Team Leader

Alex works across the board for our creative clients, preparing VAT returns, sole trader accounts, bookkeeping and cashflow forecasting. He is studying for his ACCA qualification.

Alex enjoys watching rugby and follows Leicester Tigers closely.

He’s also an avid Game of Thrones fan.

  • Danielle Simmonds BSc

  • Team Leader

Danielle graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in Accounting and Finance. She is currently studying for her ACCA qualification.

Danielle’s responsibilities include preparing VAT returns, sole trader self-assessments and working on limited company accounts.

Danielle loves playing board games and watching live bands at gigs and festivals.

  • Jenny Heselden BSc

  • Assistant Accountant

Jenny comes from a background in physiotherapy. She works closely with the senior team, inputting and processing data and performing administrative tasks. She is currently studying for her ACA qualification.

Jenny enjoys creative writing and a variety of arts and craft activities.

  • Shannon Thomas BSc

  • Accounts Assistant

Shannon is a University of Nottingham graduate in Mathematics.

She is responsible for preparing limited company accounts, VAT returns, and sole trader self-assessments. Shannon is currently studying for her AAT qualification.

Shannon loves music and going to concerts, and also has an interest in fashion. She’s travelled all over the world.

  • Joshua Kay

  • Accounts Assistant

Joshua is a recent A-Level graduate in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics.

He is responsible for assisting the accounts team with bookkeeping duties and VAT returns.

Joshua is an avid Arsenal supporter and a keen runner. He’s also a big film fan.

  • Denise Fowler

  • Accounts Assistant

Denise is an integral part of the Whitemoor Davis team. She works across a wide variety of clients, inputting data and doing accounts preparation.

Denise has a keen interest in dance and a love of rock music.

  • Abigail McIntyre

  • Office Manager

Abigail works as PA for the Company Directors and takes care of internal matters for Whitemoor Davis.

She is passionate about swimming and is a qualified swimming teacher and teaches in her spare time.

Abigail also loves going to concerts and music festivals.

  • Philip Gautier

  • Insolvency Practitioner

Philip started working in the insolvency profession in 1977 and, after a successful career with three leading firms, joined Carter Clark in 2005. He has dealt with all aspects of both corporate and individual insolvency including trading companies undergoing an insolvency process to retain their goodwill/ value for sale. In addition, Philip has assisted with asset recovery and investigations in fraud cases, including giving evidence in criminal trials.

He has been told many times by directors and fellow professionals in the industry that he brings a common-sense approach to his work – cutting away the legalise and concentrating on the practical aspects.
